Travis Canady, formally known as Traevis, lives by and applies to his warrior like work ethic. Born and raised in a small country town in Texas, the songwriter/singer/producer has came along way since singing into a $5 headset microphone from Wal-Mart.
Raised in a christian family,(his father a preacher, and mother a Sunday school teacher) Traevis began singing in his mothers youth choir at the young age of four, and in only just a few years gained the ability to write songs and play instruments. As a young child Traevis grew up to listening and watching many artists such as; Michael Jackson, Usher, and Al Green, which would later become his biggest influences. It wasn’t until the year 2010 that Traevis decided to take his dream and vision of becoming a professional world reknown recording artist/entertainer to the next level. Unable to afford the costs of using and recording in an actual recording studio, Traevis decided to create a recording studio in his home at his own convenience. With just a $5 headset microphone, and recording studio software the inspiring singer began to attempt to create and produce his own tracks, write his own songs, and mix his own songs. In the fall of 2010 Traevis completed his first independent studio album, having all the songs written and produced by himself. The album was entitled “Genesis” representing the beginning of a dream that he had been dreaming and chasing ever since he was 4 years old. The debut effort had many influences with many different genres of music, ranging from the soulful and sensual R&B, and Hip-Hip, to the radio ready Pop. 6 months later, Traevis released yet another independent studio album his sophomore effort “In My Own Way” under his own independent record label “TEChnical Records”. The sophomore effort consisted of mainly R&B his core genre of choice, and with a little of his secondary genre Pop. On March of 2012 Traevis released a promo single “Fool With Me” from his highly anticipated third studio album “Evolution” due the fall of 2012. The single has gained a positive response from the urban audience, for his change of sound and vocals, songwriting, and production. It wasn’t until mid 2013 that Traevis decided to step into new waters. In the beginning stages of his career he started off with pure hip-hop, only to make his own features later on. His first hip-hop/rap single “Booty Talk”, changed the whole outlook on his music given him more versatility and rep.
