American Horror Story Actress (Sarah Paulson) BIGGEST GIGS
Sarah Paulson is an actress that over the last few years has increasingly gained popularity. So we think she deserves her own blog post. A post that partially focuses on her biggest successes as an actor. Paulson began working as an actress right out of high school. AllMovies.com has described here as 'A lovely and talented actress with a knack for both comedy and drama.' She made her television debut in a 1994 episode of the series Law & Order. In 1995, she was cast as Merlyn Temple, a dead woman who can communicate with her living brother, on the fantasy series American Gothic; while the show only ran for a year, it developed a devoted cult following. This however really got Paulson known in the industry. She had a brilliant opportunity to work with some big celebrities when she landed a supporting role in the Mel Gibson/Helen Hunt movie What Women Want. We all know this movie. So, why is American Horror Story her biggest gig yet? In short, it has hooked the world's young people. It is an anthology series that centers on different characters and locations, including a house with a murderous past, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, and an enigmatic hotel. The show allows their cast to play a different character in each series. Often allowing them to highlight different acting skills. On September 2nd, 2014, Ryan Murphy (creator) announced to the public that "All the seasons are connected to each other in somehow, someway." Hopefully that isn't too much of a spoiler for you! Helen seems to be a great role model. The following is directly quoted from herself. 'If my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, that's going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I don't want to feel that.' Defiantly linked to the asylum scenario in American Horror Story!! But perhaps more obviously a great life lesson for all of us from a great actress. Perhaps another great personal quote: 'I like to work and I like to work with great actors and great directors and great material - and there isn't a ton of it.' Paulson has got wealths to teach us as a person and as an actor. Don't forget if you like this, we have plenty more coming your way. Don't forget to follow us and keep up to day. |
