An Interview with Isaac Middleton (DJ Fire Hawk) I’m Isaac Middleton—some of you may know me as DJ Fire Hawk—and I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Vero G. She’s one of those rare people who somehow manages to be both intensely talented and genuinely warm. Born and raised on the Lower East Side of New York City, Vero G’s story starts early: by seven, her life was already set to a soundtrack. Her first taste of the spotlight came with the JHS 22 School Choir, when she took first place at an Anti-Drug Awareness Show. That win was just the spark for what’s become a 15-year (and counting) music career. Vero G’s music pulses with the energy of her city. Her sound is a vibrant blend of R&B, Pop, Soul, Hip Hop, and Latin influences, shaped by legends like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Selena, and Whitney Houston. Singing with Al Sharpton’s Change Choir took her across the country, performing for crowds and building the powerhouse stage presence she’s known for today. She’s never been content to follow in anyone else’s footsteps. Striking out as an independent artist, Vero G has played stages all over New York—from the historic Nuyorican Poets Cafe to festivals like the 6th Street Festival and the 116th Street Latin Festival. Along the way, she’s collected plenty of hardware: SITA, LDM Music, Europe Music, BIA, and even the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. If you’re after music that comes with a story, look no further. Vero G’s released over seven albums—each one a snapshot of her journey so far. From It’s Christmas Time With Vero G. to Trials and Tribulations, The Rise Of Vero G., A Brand New Me, Here I Am Victory, My Anxiety, and Energy, her discography covers a lot of ground. Her singles, including “Come With Me” ft. Cuban Link, “Since You Gone Away,” “Romper Mi Corazon,” and “Island Vibes” ft. Truthbtold, show just how much heart and range she pours into her craft. She’s currently working on her eighth album, Self Love, a celebration of embracing yourself and all the beautiful messiness that comes with it—set to a mix of Soul, Pop, R&B, and more. But the music is just the beginning. Vero G is also a model who’s graced the runways of NYC Fashion Week and appeared in magazine spreads. She’s acted in indie films and series like The Interrogators and Sensory Deprivation. For over eight years, she’s hosted her own TV show--Vero G. Spotlight TV Show—putting the spotlight on indie artists from all over the world. The show’s picked up its own share of awards, including B Free and People’s Choice Awards. That Spotlight brand has since grown into both a magazine and a radio show, all dedicated to amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Vero G is also a force behind the scenes, producing indie showcases across New York at venues like Karma Lounge and Harlem Bar & Grill. And if you’re a reader, she’s got you covered—she’s published over 40 books, ranging from poetry and self-help to deeply personal memoirs like Trial and Tribulations: An Autobiography of Vero G. and My Journey. What ties all of this together? Relentless positivity, a fierce work ethic, and a commitment to lifting others up. Vero G’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when you mix passion with persistence—and a reminder that you can inspire others just by being yourself. She even made the cover of Music Hollywood Fashion Online Magazine, September 2026. Ready to be inspired? Dive into Vero G’s music and journey:
